The Thorn And The Rose
Well, this book is live, but the file is troublesome. Instead of spending this afternoon watching Bob's Packers battle for the last conference slot against the New York Giants, I'm revamping the Word Document for inclusion to Smashwords's Premium Catalogue. But as soon as that's done, I'll be back, with lots of info about The Thorn And The Rose...
In the meantime, if you've not yet read Alvin's Farm, I say download a copy; much easier to know what's going on with Alvin, Jenny and the rest if you have that book in your possession! Then get a copy of the new book; great reading for a cool January day!
Okay, two hours later... What I need to do next time is not automatically assume my Word document is going to behave properly. But now the novel is safely in the review queue, has been okayed by the Validate Epub site. Now I wait...
While I'm waiting, I'll tell you a little about this novel. But I can only tell you a little, in case you haven't yet read Alvin's Farm. Spoilers, as River Song teases. The Thorn And The Rose picks up right where Alvin's Farm left off, the residents of Arkendale, Oregon in tumult. Alvin and Jenny, Tommie and Rae, Sam, Jacob, Debbie and all the kids are worried sick. The only one unbothered is a very small girl with deep blue eyes, beloved by all. That little girl has no idea of the emotional minefield so many adults and teeangers are trying to navigate, attempting to get through unscathed. All I can say is initially it looks promising, but as that little girl finds her footing and speech, everything alters.
It's quite hard offering a synopsis for the second of a series; what to say, what to conceal. Spoilers, River croons, unable to tell The Doctor who she is, how they entwine in each other's lives, not even bringing up her parents, Amy and Rory! Equally, I won't say much here, in case you've not yet read Alvin's Farm. But if you have, well, hold onto your hats. The Thorn And The Rose carries another wallop, and as I said, no one in Arkendale will ever be the same.

Thank goodness you have finished Alvin's Farm, Book 2, before I leave for England! I have already downloaded so I'll be able to read it on the EuroStar and beyond!
It will also mean that I will be taking a little of you back to England with me.
Are you never tempted to write a tale that takes place in England? I would love to see what you would do with the foreign setting.
Anyway, there is no doubt in my mind that this book will be a success too. Now, I'm going to have a hard time waiting to read it because my train is in 6 days...
