(Scuppered) Adventures in fabric

The inner panel does the heavy lifting here, but quilt math was employed to make sure the sizing was correct, as well as enough of the green border fabric to make that border!
Kawandi as well as a panel completion. Yup, I love me some sewing!
Except.... That sentiment is not this post. I'd planned to gleefully expand upon these two projects until late yesterday when my right shoulder ached not merely near my shoulder blade but actually at the top of my shoulder. Not that I'd done a heap of hand-sewing yesterday, but what I did wasn't what my body wanted.
Sigh.
It's better today, but still not a hundred percent. What it has done is make me reassess what I wanted to do with both projects, and the answer is to shelve them for now. The Kawandi wall hanging will live in a tote while the panel quilt top/back and its accompanying top/back will be folded, then placed on a stack of finished pieces. And that's what I can say about my hand-stitching endeavors.

| Sorting the border for this Kawandi project. My goodness I ADORE this manner of sewing! |
Sigh.
Yet not all is lost, LOL. This opens up time for necessary fabric cutting for yet ONE MORE PROJECT. A quilt for a beloved began last year, then was carefully folded to be completed.... Not sure when, but I need to prep fabric for the other side of the quilt. I won't choose which side is front or back, that's for the recipient. But I do need to cut said fabric, and hopefully that won't further aggravate my shoulder.
Aging is better than not aging, but it's still a chore.
Meanwhile, I've been reading aloud more from Can't Be Done Alone. I'm happy with that story, making me grateful to having something on which to focus that doesn't jack up my shoulder. Lol not LOL. I've also, ahem, been pondering a different story loosely encompassing an idea from relative eons ago, HAH. That's what happens when I listen to an old playlist.

| I had just arranged the next row of fabrics when my shoulder said, "Um, no mas por favor." I also learned that using basted triangles is not an idea I'll try again, LOL. |
So maybe more new writing ahead? Certainly no hand-sewing for a while. Definitely revisions lurking. Lots of gratitude for what I can accomplish. Many thoughts toward peace and love. Have a wonderful rest of your day!
