A Prayer or four...

Lord, where there is darkness, bring light.

Where there is coldness, bring warmth,

Where there is fear, bring peace.

Where there is hurt, bring healing.

Where there is emptiness, let there be You. 

Amen.




Lord, let me practice prayerful kindness and simplicity.

Amen.

 

 

 

Lord, let me worship you in service, humility, and love for all people.

Amen. 




Jesus Christ, my Lord.

Amen.




Each act of kindness is a great act of love; thank you Jesus for teaching our hearts to better love you and one another.

Amen.




Lord, be our love, our light, and our life.

Amen.




Lord, thank you for exceptional sunsets, ice cream afterward, and great peace.

Amen.




Lord, order my affairs according to your gracious, tender, merciful love.

Amen.

 

 

 

Lord, let me see each person not as one to be conquered but to put them above myself.

Amen. 




Lord, thank you for the living water you have placed within my heart.

Amen.




Thank you Lord for the best gift in the world, life full and rich spent with you! Help me to embrace such a treasure now and forevermore.

Amen.




Lord, give me this day a bigger heart to love you more and love and care for my siblings in this world.

Amen.

  A hunk from my Lavender EPP quilt, currently in progress. Around the first of March, I took an early Lenten sabbatical from Bluesky Social. My account with that form of social media is only from last November, after the election. I didn't abandon a Twitter handle for it, as that type of social media had never been my preferred method of outreach. As you can imagine, I like a LONG manner in which to share my thoughts, smiley face inserted HERE. Yet I was happy to create the account, and enjoyed the camaraderie I met. Giving up Bluesky was in part a Lenten sacrifice, as well as a need to distance myself from the weight of what was happening in America. I fully expected to rejoin the banter once Easter was over. That plan has been discarded, as I will continue my absence from Skeets and a three hundred character limit for posts. That was certainly a hindrance, as often I have far more on my mind, LOL. Progress

Quilt is coming along and Ruthie wasn't still in a nesting box tonight! I had wanted to title this post Almost done , but that's just not applicable. I can't sew for hours like previously, and not every night either. I'll sit with this again on Thursday, then put it away for a few days, as family is visiting for Easter! Yet, this beautiful rainbow quilt has definitely turned a corner. One of the perks of going round and round from the perimeter inwards is that every row gets shorter and shorter and shorter. Slowly, of course, but little by little.... I've been threading six needles per session, but this evening I probably used eight or nine, and my shoulder feels it, lol. Thankfully my right thumb is fine; it's been bothering me in addition to my shoulder. As sixty years old gets closer, I'm truly starting to notice changes in my body that weren't there previously. Five weeks till the solstice

This hat comes first because I made it before the other two, and it's already been through the wash, hence the fuzziness around the edges. Because my chickens need some sun! And I need to appreciate the lessening daylight just like I adore the lengthening days.... It's also five weeks until the last Sunday in Advent, but I didn't know that until I checked the calendar, finding that the solstice coincides with Advent. Which isn't so much what this post is about, but it is fascinating. Anyway.... What made me think about the solstice was the chickens. They get so little sun these days, and that won't improve significantly until, well, February. Lol. Poor chickies, not that they know any better, but I do and.... And there's very little I can do about it, other than let them into the garden when the garden is getting sun, then waiting.
