(Scuppered) Adventures in fabric

Image
The inner panel does the heavy lifting here, but quilt math was employed to make sure the sizing was correct, as well as enough of the green border fabric to make that border! Kawandi as well as a panel completion. Yup, I love me some sewing! Except.... That sentiment is not this post. I'd planned to gleefully expand upon these two projects until late yesterday when my right shoulder ached not merely near my shoulder blade but actually at the top of my shoulder. Not that I'd done a heap of hand-sewing yesterday, but what I did wasn't what my body wanted. Sigh. It's better today, but still not a hundred percent. What it has done is make me reassess what I wanted to do with both projects, and the answer is to shelve them for now. The Kawandi wall hanging will live in a tote while the panel quilt top/back and its accompanying top/back will be folded, then placed on a stack of finished pieces. And that's what I can say about my hand-stitching endeavors. Sorting the bord...

Progress

Quilt is coming along and Ruthie wasn't still in a nesting box tonight! I had wanted to title this post Almost done , but that's just not applicable. I can't sew for hours like previously, and not every night either. I'll sit with this again on Thursday, then put it away for a few days, as family is visiting for Easter! Yet, this beautiful rainbow quilt has definitely turned a corner. One of the perks of going round and round from the perimeter inwards is that every row gets shorter and shorter and shorter. Slowly, of course, but little by little.... I've been threading six needles per session, but this evening I probably used eight or nine, and my shoulder feels it, lol. Thankfully my right thumb is fine; it's been bothering me in addition to my shoulder. As sixty years old gets closer, I'm truly starting to notice changes in my body that weren't there previously. Moving on from that, Ruthie the broody hen also made progress tonight, putting herself on ...

Digital breadcrumbs

Cards I made this morning. More breadcrumbs fer shure! The perfect way to describe my novels. Seriously lol. Having taken off a few days from revisions (not writing, because in all honestly I am NOT WRITING anything at the moment), this morning I opened Splitting the Sky in manuscript form and began making corrections from the version on my phone. Where I had noted to rework this section , I merely inserted that directive onto the document, hah, then moved on with the next notation. I'll rework those sections after I clear all the tabs in the ebook, because it's still a holiday-sort of time, no need to get crazy with editing. Also that in the big picture, my books are digital breadcrumbs in the corporeal sky. Don't misconstrue; I take my writing (or revising, whatever!) seriously. My novels are the best of what I can produce right now, and I'm pleased (and a bit proud) of the themes pursued, prose created, characters blossoming whether I had them initially in mind or n...
