A Contemplative Life

Gratuitous chicken photos grace this post. All eight hens enjoyed a field trip yesterday to the garden! (Yes hens, as they are eighteen and a half weeks old, woo hoo!) A few posts ago I wrote an inadvertent and certainly impromptu synopsis for Home and Far Away . It was so cathartic and, well, thrilling to write all that, but the big question was would I employ any of that off the cuff random prose to promote a novel. Well, I used some of it.   This week's RSAN EPP block; Baton Rouge. I have completed it, but felt this picture was more apropos for today's post. Tomorrow I plan to release the second novel of The Enran Chronicles ! Amid many sewing projects, the writing never stops, well, the prep for what writing produces. I've also (mostly) come to terms with the notion that actual WRITING might not happen again until 2025. Small sigh taken, then the thrill of releasing a new book overwhelms! Let's see if I can properly explain all that is currently on the creative bill.... Publishing a novel is a little like having a baby, just a little. The gestation ranges from months to years, yet the sense of nurturing a new life, or many of them, is similar to a human's nine-month gestation. A couple makes a baby, akin to how a story emerges from an author's experiences, but usually one person writes said book, just as one person carries that new life all those weeks. The process veers off once the first draft...

Sometimes a novel's release is pre-planned, well-publicized, and meticulous organized. And sometimes a book's publication occurs during quiet time on a busy Sunday afternoon. The latter is my choice because if I don't do this now, who knows when I'll get this series started, insert laughing face here. The Enran Chronicles has been my fictional obsession for over a year. Tia Sorenson and Nathan Zanetti are characters tightly stitched in my heart, Tia's sisters Lucy and Wynn, as well as Shirl Wentz like members of my own clan. Their neighbor Dana Noth and Lucy's six-year-old son Bobby are just as dear, as well as two aliens from hundreds of years and millions of miles away, known as the Doc and Captain to Tia and Nathan, who have been inadvertently entwined not merely with each other.
